Novum is the Latin word for “new,” whose Greek analogue, “neon,” was used to name the rare gas element isolated by Ramsay and Travers in June of 1898 and which followers of this page are well familiar. So it seemed an apt title for a new announcement.
A lot has happened since last year….a new place…a new studio…some new teaching opportunities…and a lot of neon related travels from one end of the country to the other. Some of this has been featured in posts I have made on my Instagram account @hausrobert (often using hashtag #neonarchaeology) and some was detailed on the www.neonmakersguild.org website. But there is something else I’d like to introduce today– my new business website! www.neonarchaeology.com
For a long time I have been offering demos, short classes, restoration work, and consultation services for neon and other vintage technologies. Thanks to the knowledge and diligence of my wife, Elizabeth, there is now a functional website to showcase this activity! This was no small feat and she really knocked it out of the park to get it working!
The site features links and contact information for my consults and other work that I have been doing and soon, a store front will be added for the sale of some items that may be of interest to followers of this page or my IG account.
This blog page is linked from the new site and will be used to feature certain techniques or projects of note, or to provide public answers to select questions that come up, etc., etc.
So if you’ve not already done so, please take a look at the new site, bookmark it, and come back again! Thank you all for your continued support in this and other related endeavors.
